Pray for CBWC Young People on Mission

Below is an excerpt of a letter from Hannah and Isaiah Wijaya, who are heading to North India on mission this summer. Their dad, Jusuf Wijaya, is a member of our Church Planting Advisory Team and pastors at Ward Memorial Church in Vancouver.

Join these young missionaries in prayer!

This is Hannah and Isaiah Wijaya, Pastor Jusuf Wijaya’s children. Isaiah and I will be going on a mission trip to North India this coming summer. My team consists of a total of 5 very excited teens from our Vision School group in Surrey and will be meeting with approximately 50 other youth from around North America. Isaiah’s team consists of 12 high school students. We are going with InterCP, a missions based organization dedicated to spreading the Gospel message to the remaining unreached people groups of the frontiers.

Upon arriving to North India, local missionary picks us up and takes us to our ‘base camp’. Equipped with a backpack, a few change of clothes, little money, a Bible, a guitar and few small gifts, we will then be sent off in groups of 3 or 4 to local villages with the lead of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 10 Biblical Model).

Here in the local villages, we rely on the locals for their hospitality. Wherever we get invited to: Stay, eat, rest, that’s where we’ll stay for a day or two before moving on to another home or town. Within the homes, we build friendships, eat & play together, talk in broken language, worship for them, pray for them, and of course present the Good news of Jesus!

Our group is so grateful and humbled to have the opportunity to serve our Lord Jesus Christ our sovereign God, whose love is beyond human comprehension. It is our deepest desire that wherever His people goes, as disciples and followers of Jesus Christ, we will proclaim in boldness the Gospel and tell the world the Living Love story of Jesus Christ.

We hope that you are as excited about this ministry opportunity as we are. Our team cannot accomplish this task alone. As you can imagine, the places where we will be going are spiritual warzones, and we earnestly need your prayers. North India is known for its intense Islamic strongholds and harsh persecutions of Christians. These strongholds and hard grounds can only be broken through Worship and Prayers!

In order to be an effective witness, we will need the commitment of at least 20 intercessors to pray for us during our trip. If you would like to be one of our wonderful intercessors please let us know your intentions via email.

Here are our prayer requests:

-To proclaim the Gospel with boldness and in truth without compromise
-For God’s love to fall upon us, that we can love like He loves
-For Wisdom to understand all of our surroundings
-To have a Shepherd’s heart in that we will seek and care for ALL of God’s sheep
-For God’s protection from the horrid schemes of the enemy
-For Unity and Strength in the team
-For the Holy Spirit to fill us and lead us in everything that we do
-That we will trust God with all our hearts and we will fear no man.
-Finally for God to open the hearts of the Indian people so that they may be able to believe and trust in Christ.

I also invite you for your partnership in this mission and to share in the blessing by giving a financial donation. The total cost of the trip is $2500 for me and $3200 for Isaiah (as he is staying longer). As we live by faith, I invite you to give by faith as He leads you. As the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, no amount is too small or insignificant.

Here is the way to donate:

Payable to: “Ward Memorial Baptist Church”

Simply make a note on the cheque “Hannah/Isaiah Wijaya Mission Trip” and send it to:
