God Stories

This article first appeared in GO WEST!

At the recent CBWC Assembly in Calgary, one of the prevalent themes was God stories. We saw God at work in each other, we heard stories of His faithfulness in our denomination, and saw videos of His Kingdom advancing in communities across the West. Some of these videos are being made available on our YouTube channel in the coming days.

We see this theme carrying through to our Church Plants as well. Vicki Hazelwood of The Well, a CBWC Church Plant in Lethbridge, Alberta, writes this:

Over the past few months we’ve been taking time at our Well gatherings to share “our stories”. Stories of how we have journey through life to our present point and faith in Jesus.  It has been very encouraging to learn how God has been at work in each other’s lives. We have gained a deeper understanding of God’s grace and love as we hear first hand these stories of His hand on people’s lives over the past years. Two of the people that shared their stories talked about the significance of The Well in their faith journey and how God drew them back to Himself through this open, authentic community of people. These people have requested to be baptized in the upcoming months. We are praising Jesus for His power at work in our community! To Him be the glory!

How about you? Where have you seen God at work in your own life or in the lives of those you are discipling? How is your congregation making a positive impact in your neighbourhood for the sake of Christ?

Share a God story with a friend today. And, if you have the courage, send us your stories so we can offer them as an encouragement to the whole CBWC family.
